Tony Angelo is an American drifting pioneer. He started drifting with Chris Forsberg in Doylestown, PA, and eventually progressed to being a D1GP driver, as well as a Formula D seeded driver. He is founder of the ground breaking Drift Alliance team, and a revered driver in the American series.
Tony Angelo has starred in several Drifting films including Bad as Hell, Slide America, and Stay Hungry. He is also known to support the grassroots scene in drifting by attending local events in Southern California and lending a helping hand to all up and coming drivers with his instructional driver clinics. Tony Angelo has built and driven a series of powerful rotary powered Mazdas during his professional career. He most recently campaigned a Mazda RX-8 in Formula Drift with partners Mazda, Maxxis Tires,Exedy Racing Clutches, and Disc Brakes Australia. After the 2008 Formula Drift season Tony moved from the drivers seat to the judges chair for 2009, a position that he still maintains. In 2010 he was also elected Formula drift Technical Manager. A position that focuses primarily on competition vehicle compliance and enforcement of Formula Drift's technical regulations as stated in the Formula Drift rule book.
